Good continuation.

Book three picks up where book two left off. It took a little bit of reading to recall the characters from book two. This story mainly focuses on a group of young men and women trying to establish their independence during a winter at the 'colony,' a gated outpost staging area for collecting necessities from small towns and homes. What zombies that are nearby during the winter are frozen; the tension in the story comes from the weather thawing them out. Predominant in the story is Ash's mother, the leader of the survivor's group. She has a new man in her life and another baby on the way. Also, an interesting addition to the zombie genre is 'feral children' that are more beast than human. I believe this book is geared more to the young adult/teen market than adult TEOTWAWKI fans. A decent read; really 3/5 score.

"Ash is a survivor and youngbut determined to move out from her moms shadow"

First i want too say that i was given the unedited beta edition of this story recently after reading the first two novels in the series in agreement that I would give a fair, unbiased and well earned review. The storyline had a flowing and interesting seamless quality to it. The character depth was interesting and i found myself engaged throughout the story by human aspects of both Ashley and her mother. Too me if anything was most noticable it was focus of a group of young survivors that wanted to be independent and expand from the original colony of survivors from the zombie apocalypse that occured in the first novel and the victims of the tragic events of the second story that all banded together. Really a coming of age story in impossible circumstances against all odds of survival.

I NEVER want to see the word "hun" again
By Kindleluvr
Enjoyed the first book enough to read the second but could barely get through this most recent installment. Had a hard time understanding the point of this story and it seemed that the author killed off characters for no other reason than a basic body count. Finally, the word "hun" was used by every character to address just about everyone in this book numerous times throughout and if you think that's a minor detail, I challenge you not to want to punch yourself in the face after the first 30 times. I would hope a writer could find a slightly different term of endearment on occasion. Disappointing.
