I had Book 1 on my TBR for some time. When i saw the bundle i snapped it up. Boy was I glad i did! Love the new (to me) author. I can't wait to read the rest of the stories. Even though it is centered around the Porn Industry, it was done in a manner where you forget. They are just business men helping and loving each other and their "family". This series really shows that family can be much larger and more loving when you choose your family. Each can be read as a stand alone, but you fall in love with them all and want to know all the stories. Can't wait for the rest!

Love the All Cocks Men!!!

Gay for Pay (Book 1) is about the couple, Christopher and Lincoln. They work for the All Cocks porn company. Christopher is living with his best friend and his boyfriend to deal with the trauma of his past, an accident that caused him to lose the one person who meant the world to him. Christopher sees a flyer about auditions to become an All Cocks man and decides that it is a way to get him some financial independence. He meets Lincoln and they become friends. After a while they begin to have feelings for each other, but Chris is still dealing with the guilt of his girlfriend’s death. Will Christopher and Lincoln be able to get over their past mistakes and follow the feelings of their hearts? I really enjoyed this story.
Fame and Fortune (Book 2) Victor and Andrew have been together for the last ten years after meeting and knowing that they were meant for each other. Now, ten years later they have a successful porn company and a life that they love. When Michael comes in for an interview to apply for a job, both Victor and Andrew a pull towards the man that makes them question whether they are being true to each other. When things happen to Michael that triggers memories of his past Victor and Andrew circle the wagons and do what they can to protect Michael, and to show him that trusting again is possible. Will it be enough to get Michael to open up his heart to the two men who want to cherish it? I love these three and can’t wait to read about the other men of All Cock.
How to Deal (Book 3) Jon and Kory’s story is told in Book 3. Jon is a police officer and Kory is one of the All Cocks men. Jon meets Kory while on a call and is immediately intrigued by him. He manages to get past Kory’s walls and they begin to go out. Kory has a lot of issues that they need to work through before Jon and Kory can have their happily ever after. All of these men have kept me reading and looking forward to finding out about the other All Cock men.

About the Author
Steven J. Paley (Paramus, NJ) holds nine US patents and numerous international patents. He is the founder of Arise Technologies, Inc., which teaches robotics and engineering to special needs and gifted children. From 1985 to 2001, he was the CEO and Chief Technical Officer of the Texwipe Company, which manufactured and sold specialized consumable products for the control of microcontamination in semiconductor fabrication, disk drive manufacture, biotechnology, and aerospace.

How To Think & Act As An Inventor/Product Developer/Engineer

Their are many current books on Design and Product Development, as well as a few guides to the Patent and Intellectual Property Process; Steven Paley as Entrepreneur, Inventor, Graduate of the Stanford Product Design Program and former Technical Staff Member of Bell Laboratories gives a complete Heuristic Guide to Thinking and Acting as an Inventor. He describes in detail and from personal experience (while illustrating with extensive case studies such as the invention of the Paper Clip, Velcro, the Xerox Copier, etc.) the process of getting and growing a non-obvious idea and developing a commercially successful invention.

Paley, both a trained Engineer and Product Developer as well as a second-generation independent Innovator and Entrepreneur stresses a structured conscious and sub-conscious Heuristic process of Inventive Problem Solving; in one formulation [page 39] he describes this process as:

"
1. Active Awareness
2. Technological Fluency
3. Seeing the Flower from the Seed
4. Desire to Create
5. Courage
"

;in another [page 52] he describes the Mental Activities as:

"
1. Feeding the brain by accumulating the information that will serve as the building blocks of creativity.
2. Listening to the subconscious as it works with the problem.
3. Using intuition, or thinking with the gut.
4. Evolving an idea using your inner senses.

He describes Goals and Metrics for Inventions as [page 101]:

1. Simplicity: "Does my design reflect with absolute simplicity the essence of my idea?"
2. Elegance: "Have I solved the problem with the utmost elegance?
and
3. Robustness: "Is my solution robust enough to withstand the unanticipated?"

Paley also describes a Systems-Oriented Problem Solving Process and gives guidelines to the Evolution of An Idea through Iteration. Finally, he gives some essential consideration
to the business process of bringing an invention to market including guidelines for estimating the cost of patent preparation.

Incredible! Very impressed and extremely helpful! He provides many examples of his own experience and explains everything very well. He gives great information on everything. All the chapters are relevant to his topics and is well put together. I highlight helpful sentences, and with his book, I'm constantly highlighting!

An Essential Book for the Budding Inventor

This is a book that needed to be written.

The main thesis of the well-written book, "The Art of Invention" is as much about unlearning as it is about learning. Invention is about feeing the mind, breaking down constraints, as it is about the art of inventing, of not going down the road well-traveled.

Paley writes in an engaging and easy to read style about the creative process and about how to get from needs and raw ideas to finished products. It's chock-full of engaging stories.

The book is divided into three sections:creative problem-solving, the embodiment of invention (simplicity, elegance, and robustness) and the practical matters of taking an idea from concept to reality and commercializing invention.

Pal begins by explaining what made the humble paper clip such a great invention.

He starts out with properly defining a problem. No "design a tooth brush for elephants," which is self-limiting, but "Prevent elephants from getting cavities" which better defines the objective and does not limit the possibilities. Faulty problem statements lead to ineffective solutions.

He speaks of the "hidden obvious" and being "confidently naive."

As a therapist, I'm constantly looking out for helpful resources for clients. This book has quickly been added to my list. It so clearly explores the seven most common--and inevitable, if you're human!--psychological injuries and then provides specific "first aid" treatments for each:

1. Rejection--The emotional cuts and scrapes of daily life
Description:
Rejections can inflict four distinct emotional wounds, each of which might require some from of emotional first aid: lingering visceral pain, anger and aggressive urges, harm to self-esteem, and damage to feeling that we belong. (p. 17)
Treatments:
* Argue with self-criticism
* Revive your self-worth
* Replenish feelings of social connection
* Desensitize yourself

2. Loneliness--Relationship muscle weakens
Description:
Loneliness makes us constantly on guard, prepared for the disappointment and rejection we are sure will come. As a result, we miss opportunities to make social connections and behave in ways that push others away. (p. 53)

* Take on the other person's perspective

5. Rumination--Picking at emotional scabs
Description:
In order to break the self-reinforcing nature of ruminative thoughts and allow our wounds to heal, we must interrupt the cycle of rumination once it gets triggered, and we should weaken the urge to ruminate at the source by diminishing the intensity of the feelings that fuel it. We must also make efforts to monitor our relationships and to ease the emotional burden we might be placing on loved ones. (p. 154)

6. Failure--Emotional chest colds become psychological pneumonias
Description:
When we fail repeatedly or when we respond to failures in ways that set back our confidence, our self-esteem, and our chances of future success, we run the risk of allowing our emotional chest cold to turn into psychological pneumonia. Because much of the anxiety associated with failures can build upon itself, it is best to be prudent and apply psychological first aid treatment as soon as possible after meaningful or bothersome failures occur. (p. 189)

Practical and completely achievable advice for handling emotional injuries

I love how this book 1) acknowledges that we need to address our emotional wounds with they happen and 2) uses practical examples and gives tangible step-by-step instructions to help deal with emotional injuries. It's not another book that leaves you with a stack of ways you *should* think and *should* react. Instead, you give it a read to learn the science -- then keep it handy (like a medicine cabinet) for when an injury happens. I've read somewhere around 10 books in this genre and this one by far stands out as the most practical and achievable guide to emotional health.

A significant book, provides actionable tips and contributes to de-stigmatizing psychological challenges

I became curious about Dr. Winch's work after hearing his TED talk, where he spoke with passion and compassion about his vision for a future where people know as much about tending to their emotional and mental health as to their physical health. The world presents more complex (and interesting) challenges today than ever before. The more we can acknowledge the universality of psychological challenges such as rejections, failures and loneliness, the better we can find ways to manage them together.

As someone who appreciates learning materials that are easy to apply and reuse, I love the book for its structured, clear and actionable content. Dr. Winch effectively uses anecdotes from his practice to illustrate how to apply the various techniques.

My knowledges on in reeds adjustment were gained from the "Red Book", my instructors directions, web articles ( including Chris Apps website ) and YOUTUBE video and my own experience. I thought what else could be the news. But incounting on the reed's manipulation problem again and again I decided to read it as a last resort. As soon as I got the manual I read it through with great interest and I found information that was important and helpful to me. As a result I got more accurate and patient in the reed's manipulation. I recommend it to GHB enthusiasts, especially the remoted ones, to make their practice comfortable and their life easier. Thanx to the author. Alex.

Great advice from a great reedmaker

I'm not sure if there is a lot of value in writing a review for this book. If you are looking at this book then you are probably already familiar with Chris and his great reeds. With that said, I cannot recommend this enough and having it available electronically is even more handy. Get the book, get one of his mandrels and have at it. You will wonder how you ever got by without this guide.

All pipers should have this book

I've been playing pipes for 14 years and learned more than a few tips from Chris Apps' book. He covers not only chanter reeds extensively but also cane and synthetic drone reeds. Next time that F is acting up you'll wish you had this book as a reference.
I purchased the Kindle version and keep it on my home computer, Android phone and tablet... it's always handy if I need it.
