Guide to Highland Bagpipe Reeds Review

I bought the book after more than two years it was issued and I heard about it.
My knowledges on in reeds adjustment were gained from the "Red Book", my instructors directions, web articles ( including Chris Apps website ) and YOUTUBE video and my own experience. I thought what else could be the news. But incounting on the reed's manipulation problem again and again I decided to read it as a last resort. As soon as I got the manual I read it through with great interest and I found information that was important and helpful to me. As a result I got more accurate and patient in the reed's manipulation. I recommend it to GHB enthusiasts, especially the remoted ones, to make their practice comfortable and their life easier. Thanx to the author. Alex.

Great advice from a great reedmaker

I'm not sure if there is a lot of value in writing a review for this book. If you are looking at this book then you are probably already familiar with Chris and his great reeds. With that said, I cannot recommend this enough and having it available electronically is even more handy. Get the book, get one of his mandrels and have at it. You will wonder how you ever got by without this guide.

I've been playing pipes for 14 years and learned more than a few tips from Chris Apps' book. He covers not only chanter reeds extensively but also cane and synthetic drone reeds. Next time that F is acting up you'll wish you had this book as a reference.
I purchased the Kindle version and keep it on my home computer, Android phone and tablet... it's always handy if I need it.

The M&A backbone we all need

This is the book you need to enter the world of M&A with confidence and knowledge.

While not very technical, and surely dense at times, this book gives you the backbone you need to be aware of what's happening in your company or other companies.

I would not say it is a one stop shop, but the vast amount of theory covered in this book is utterly mind-boggling. It is solid. It should be the standard for any collegiate M&A class--I cannot imagine an M&A education without it.

Essential of Pharmacoeconomics is a high-quality, intellectual contribution to the pedagogy of pharmacoeconomics in pharmacy.As a pharmacy educator, after reading the book, I deeply appreciate the time and effort Dr. Rascati spent on both teaching and research in pharmacoeconomics. No doubt it was her experience from those endeavors that resulted in this book. I highly recommend the book to be used as a textbook in pharmacoeconomics courses at US pharmacy schools.

Students keep academic books adamantly believing that they will use them after class has ended. Unfortunately, these shelf weights see little use in a search-and-click web world. Rascati ’ s book is, however, an exception. Any student keeping Rascati ’ s book after class’s end would still be using it. Essentials of Pharmacoeconomics is a timely book providing beginning students an excellent introduction to pharmacoeconomics. The book earns high marks for its emphasis on research analysis, brief but inclusive explanations, and for doing in 200 pages what many books eight times the length attempt. Beginners need not run a CBA of this book. It may be profitably kept on shelves in an increasing valuing world

VERY highly recommend!

This book lays a strong foundation for Pharmacoeconomics (PE) and provides relevant and valid points for application. It is well written and clear to the reader, even if one does not have a firm understanding of general economic principles. It is not lengthly and focuses on key facets of PE study. The book's examples and practice exercises reinforces material presented in each chapter. It is highly valuable for classroom teaching and the academic realm as well as for practitioners that seek to evaluate PE in their realm of practice. VERY highly recommend!

Mathew Thomson examines the origins of these policies in central government and shows how they were put into practice by health professionals and local authorities. About the Author
Raymond A. Serway (PhD, Illinois Institute of Technology) is Professor Emeritus at James Madison University. His honors and awards include an honorary doctorate degree from his alma mater, Utica College, the 1990 Madison Scholar Award at James Madison University, the Distinguished Teaching Award at Clarkson University in 1977, and the Alumni Achievement Award from Utica College in 1985. As Guest Scientist at the IBM Research Laboratory in Zurich, Switzerland, he worked with K. Alex Müller, 1987 Nobel Prize recipient. He was a visiting scientist at Argonne National Laboratory, where he collaborated with his mentor and friend, the late Sam Marshall. Dr. Serway is the coauthor of COLLEGE PHYSICS, Eleventh Edition; PHYSICS FOR SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS, Ninth Edition; PRINCIPLES OF PHYSICS, Fifth Edition; ESSENTIALS OF COLLEGE PHYSICS; MODERN PHYSICS, Third Edition; and the high school textbook PHYSICS, published by Holt McDougal. He has published more than 40 research papers in the field of condensed matter physics and has given more than 60 presentations at professional meetings.

Chris Vuille (PhD, University of Florida) is associate professor of physics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the world's premier institution for aviation higher education. While he has taught courses at all levels, including postgraduate, his primary interest is the teaching of introductory physics courses. He conducts research in general relativity, astrophysics, cosmology, and quantum theory and was a participant in a special three-year NASA grant program where he studied properties of neutron stars. The book is fine but no concept less than 200 years old ajd no gold leaf. Why $300? Im a professor teaching this class for the first time so maybe Ill find some amazing thing later.
I understand everyone needs to put bread on te table but Serway and Voille, really!?! $300/broke student on a super basic course everyone has to take. Then you have the gaul to mention how we need to make the studenta buy this and that to keep the book price from going up to pay for what?
Don't know how you guys can look yourselves in the mirror!

I thought I was stupid, then I realized it was just the book.

This is hands down the worst book I've ever had to deal with.
The authors don't have an adequate understanding of punctuation in the English language.
The examples given at the end of each section don't even walk you through the problem.
It's a joke.
This book doesn't offer the instruction or information that you need in order to answer the questions at the end of the chapter.

Careful with this Book

I bought this book so that I don't have to purchase the split edition (Volume I and II). Essentially, it is the same book, same edition, and written by the same authors. What I didn't know was that the end of the chapter questions are out of order compared to the split edition. They're the same problems but in different order. The instructor assigned problems from the split edition and I have to make the extra effort of going through the problems to find out which one he assigned in my book. What is more bothersome is when I use Chegg's solutions to figure out if I done the problems correctly is that the solution are in the order of the split edition. Better to buy the split edition than this crap.

Good resource.

This is a good resource if you want to get into Event Planning, or have found yourself in an Event Planning job, and want to learn about the core process, and get some tips for managing the process and increasing your professionalism. There aren't many event coordinating books out there that aren't totally outdated, but this is a good one. If you're looking at it, you should probably get it.

Professional Event Coordination was far more comprehensive than I could have omagined. It gets to the nitty gritty of every aspect of an event, even those one wouldn't think about. Probably the only event planning book one would need!
